I don't understand the point you're making at all. Please advise.

The elected Democratic representative from Pennsylvania just called about a third of his own constituents racists. If this is an accurate portrayal of your own thinking I could understand why you would think it to be no big deal. If anyone that didn't know me personally referred to me in that manner, I would need to exercise some form of retribution, like voting his ass out of office, and his cronies for extra measure.

Not to mention, stereotyping folks in that way who may have voted for you is probably just bad juju.

His only error is he probably underestimated the percentage.

The bottom line is that these "racist" folks apparently have not appeared on the polling radar...so 4% of the population are essentially renegades, uncounted to date. If this kind of phenomenon holds true in other areas, specifically swing states, the whole shooting match tightens way up.

It also gives the Dems a great cop out should BO lose. "John McCain, elected by the racist vote." Just ask Jack Murtha, resident expert.

(Mark my words on this one.)

Hey Pat--given the prospect of a Great Depression, I thought the above would be appropriate. It seems to have something to do with "native intelligence" so it may address the issue you raise.

I still don't get it. Does he want to be able to call people racist too, and he's jealous because he thinks that republicans can't get away with it?

To be honest, I haven't paid enough attention to have an opinion, but some how the Will Rogers quote seemed appropriate since you could apply it whatever your take on it (he's a dumb, or may be he's a dumb racist, or the folks he called out are dumb racists, or we're all just dumb asses for commenting on it or...).

If there is one thing I am confident about, it's my own ignorance.

thanks for mentioning will, since I have been trying to think who said that line...

being from western pa I was beginning to write on racism in the area and some old pirate jokes but thought better of it so I am returning to 69-01-17 santa barbara:

Dark Star > St. Stephen > The Eleven > Death Don't Have No Mercy then Cryptical Envelopment > Drums > The Other One > Cryptical Envelopment> Cosmic Charlie

69 began in fine fashion...pigpen totally smashed...and a really outstanding show...

That's the spirit! What better way to combat hatred and bigotry and ignorance but with a trip to my favorite institution of higher learning?! It really is a beautiful part of the country.

Thanks.

I am saying that when jessie jackson says things about us being controlled by zionists it blows over and is no big deal. When murtha calls millionis of people racist, it's no big deal.

If I was a prominent republican, black or white and said all the black people voting for obama because he was black are racist or said los angeles county was racist because all the hispanics voted for a hispanic candidate and not a white person the outrage from the media and "civil rights" activists would be vicious and unrelenting (mel gibson, imus, etc).

White people lose their jobs saying things far less offensive than what non whites can say all day long.

Republicans are not inherently racist but are portrayed as gung clinging, bible clutching red necks and that's ok.

Does anyone know who ran against slavery and segregation that were the fabric of the democratic party not that long ago?

And yeah, I know that was then and this is now. Ever wonder why?

It doesn't bother anyone that someone can put up a website called deconstructing whiteness and it not's labelled as hatespeech, it's actually part of college curriculum!

I have heard people say that black people cannot be racist... seriously? So when I was riding my bike home many years ago and black kids yelled, "kill that white boy" and threw bottles and 2x4's at me, it was just a natural reaction to my irish immigrant ancestors not owning slaves?

There are racist assholes on all sides, when someone is guilty of something, they love to redefine that something and use double standards.

Liberals are constantly calling republicans, nazi's and murderers and poeple think it's funny. Has anyone ever met a jewish person with a number tattooed on their arm? I have, and it's against their religion to have tattoos. The number was from a concentration camp and throwing "hitler" around dimnishes thier plight, I am offended and I am not jewish.

Accusing someone of war crimes and other stuff, when the system would try them if there were any evidence, used to be called libel and slander.

The things that are said from the leftosphere if said from the right would be hatecrimes and firable offenses. We have become vitims of political correctness and hypcritical double standards out of guilt for shit we didn't do. I have nothing against anyone until they prove they are an asshole, black or white, left or right. Assholes are assholes.

I posted a bunch of outrageous quotes on here a while ago that you would think were said at klan rallies but were said by democrats with impunity.

I tried to show the connection between all the extremists, left and right and how they have moderates as a common enemy and was accused of being paranoid... even though half the people in the videos are conspiracists and loony's themselves.

The message was that extremism is dangerous and anytime religious fundamentalists, fascists and socialists are on the same side, we should be on the other.

The kkk, black panthers, cahavez, castro and jihadists all seem to have one common enemy. Rational thinking, middle class americans who won't buy into socialism, fascism or racism as a lifestyle or goal.

It just so happens that a lot of people voting democrat also, if not refusing to condemn, are condoning or even associating with some of these poeple.

How can you forgive Klansman Byrd? George Wallace (ironically associated with mccain by a democrat recently) and other democrats were balls deep in the white supremacy movement. It was their friggin logo until 1966 for crying out loud. The first black politicians were all republicans and were elected to congress as early as the late 1880's if that isn't progressive, what the fuck is? Shit MLK was republican and a democrat shot him....

I am not making this shit up.

You don;t happen to live in a cabin buried deep in the woods surrounded by mounted rifles and booby traps, do you? You seem to be a little paranoid and even though your points make sense at the most basic level of logic, I think you really have no clue.

Is the PA for racist penn or attorney... they are listening....

But seriously, I am not abe lincoln or david karesh.

A apreciate you giving me credit and not calling me hitler!

I am not a conspiracist. I don't think bush is a lizard and jews blew up trade center with demolition charges. I believe we went to moon and a marine shot JFK. I don't think obama is a terrorist, con artist... well maybe con artist but I do question why he would share even the slightest views of extremist left wing socialist that want to "spread the wealth around". Shit I am not rich but I wouldn't want someone to pay more of a percentage in taxes that I do and can't stand the fact that someone who works less ferociuosly than I do pays a smaller portion.

Level the playing field and let the successful succeed and the failure fail. We pay people not to succeed and that is inherantly wrong. Anyone who thinks we do not have enough welfare, housing and food stamp programs has never collected or had a parent collect them.

They are a crutch not a career.

Let's cut the bullshit, not you, just in general. Let's all get real and put aside all this name calling and partisan bickering and start a new fucking party.

I can't stand either party anymore, but at least one party ain't after my money, my guns and my bible.. actually I don't have one but I have read it, not for me though.

I think some obvious things are overlooked and I can't for the life of me figure out how this is happening...

The ecnonomy taking a dump on w's watch is the problem I know, but sending in a hoover or making a new new deal is not the answer either.

My last word.

This is a Grateful Dead forum. I've never started a political thread on here, and I've certainly never hijacked a music thread to spew my politics, things you do just about every day. You are polluting my Grateful Dead experience with your political bullshit, daily - and isn't that exactly what pissed you off at Bob, Phil Bill & Mickey recently?

You are a giant screaming hypocrite - "the Grateful Dead is no place fo politics unless it happens to be my own".

If you come on here spewing your hateful shit, you have to expect responses, and you don't get to be all outraged just because someone is a little snide and calls you a couple of names. Keep your filthy fucking politics out of here, and you won't hear any of mine.
